WiFi 6 MR APs End of Sale Announcement

Cisco has announced the end of sale selected WiFi 6 Access Points.  

The recommended options to transition to are also listed below, with the WiFi 6E option (CW916x), and WiFi 7option (CW917x) provided.

The MR28, MR86, MR76, MR78, and MR57 remain available for the time being, with new products to be announced to replace these later this year.

MR36 >  CW9162 or CW9172

MR44 > CW9164 or CW9174

MR46/E > CW9166 or CW9176

MR56 > MR57 or CW9178 

Wi-Fi 6E and 7 access points support the 6 GHz band - the new, less congested spectrum for more reliable transmissions and higher throughput (increase usage of wider channels). It also offers enhanced security with WPA3 mandatory for Wi-Fi 7 and 6 GHz band.

Cisco is expect to be accepting final orders for this product through December 31, 2026. However, the final date will depend on the availability of stock and, at Cisco Meraki's discretion, the actual end-of-sale date may be earlier than this. End-of-Support date for these products will be December 31, 2031.
